Cooter Pond Park

Scenic lakeside park in Inverness with a walking trail, fishing pier, and pavilions. Named after the cooter turtles that call the pond home — look for them sunning on the logs.

Fort Cooper State Park

710-acre historic state park preserving an 1836 Seminole War fort site. Nearly 5 miles of hiking trails, kayak rentals on Lake Holathlikaha, excellent birding, and a connection to the Withlacoochee State Trail. Annual reenactment event every March.

Liberty Park

Liberty Park opened in 2002 as a city park and was renovated as part of the “Depot District” projects in 2019. Located on the shores of Lake Henderson and the Withlacoochee State Trail, this waterfront City park open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The park features a state-of-the-art playground, restroom facilities, dog waste stations, sidewalks, benches, floating gazebo, parking and lush landscaping.

Old Courthouse Heritage Museum

Built in 1912, this courthouse where Elvis once filmed a movie now houses a local-history museum.
