Phantom Airborne Brigade

Lake Dora on May 16
. This event honors airborne service, resilience, and the enduring legacy of those who have served.
From
8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
, approximately
200 veteran paratroopers
will conduct multiple water jumps into Lake Dora from the legendary
C‑47 aircraft “Tico Belle”
. This aircraft holds a distinguished place in history, having
completed three combat drops over Normandy on D‑Day
, creating a living link between past and present airborne operations.
Jumpers represent multiple generations of service. Among them is the
oldest participant at 92 years old
, active‑duty service members jumping alongside veterans, and
two paraplegic paratroopers
, demonstrating extraordinary determination and the unbreakable airborne spirit.
Phantom Takeover is open to the public
, and spectators are encouraged to attend and witness this rare and inspiring event. Hosted by the Phantom Airborne Brigade, the operation showcases precision, courage, and respect for airborne traditions—bringing history, service, and community together on the shores of Lake Dora.
